Today ourartist interview column has been replenished with another remarkable discovery. Meet Rashmi Katti, an amazing artist from India.
Rashmi paints on many surfaces including canvas, wood slices, stone, plastic, ceramic. She prefers to work with acrylics and look for original ways to transfer her artistic vision; so don't be surprised when you see a delicious hamburger, but you can't take a bite of it, because it is a stone. Among her works, the topic of family values and family relations takes a special place. Rashmi especially loves to paint portraits and paint amazing wood slices.

Is there something that you have designed that you are most proud of?
I liked my recently painted portrait of a brother sister duo. Main motive of capturing their true innocence was wonderfully and effortlessly achieved.By using artist’s discretion I did some changes in original pic and were well appreciated too. Really put my heart and soul into it and loved the way it turned out!
We still have manyquestions to ask artists in store:
What was the strongest influence you had when you were growing up ( artists, movies, cartoons, comics etc.. ) ?
While growing up Disney‘s animated series were my favorites. Be it ‘Mowgli’ from ‘Jungle Book’ , ‘Aladdin’ or ‘Ariel’... Totally fascinated with these characters. I loved their expressive features and always wondered about animation process. Back then I used to imagine a big hall full of artists drawing and painting cartoons to make a movie.
What is your advice for a beginner artist?
Always trust in your skills and style. Consistency in practice would polish them further.
Is there something that you have designed that you are most proud of?
I had painted a geometrical abstract on a large canvas. Spent lot of time in the composition, in choosing balanced color palette and suitable patterns . That may not be the most ‘liked’ painting of mine but is so dear to me. I had put lots of efforts, time and heart in it!!
