My connect group painted umbrellas! I'm very picky about supplies and wanted every thing perfect for them. They used theses pens to write messages, scriptures and inspirational thoughts. These pens worked well! I wish they came packaged in more colors though. But they were great and achieved the purpose in which I had planned!
The overall quality of the Artistro silver & gold markers are excellent. The marker casing is sturdy & comfortable in my hands. The marker paint flows easily. The gold & silver paints are really shiny, very pretty. There is a little bit of odor but nothing I can’t tolerate. Overall, excellent quality markers. I will definitely be adding to my Artistro Paint Marker collection!
I used these pens for detail work on my painted rocks. I loved that the paint went on smoothly and was on the thicker side. It had complete coverage in one coat. The gold is a very pretty shade. I did notice that the silver had a slight odor to it. They are definitely worth the money, and I would purchase again
My review: I LOVE these markers! They arrived yesterday (very fast through Amazon Prime). I have tested them out and think the overall quality is excellent! These metallics have a nice shine without a terrible odor (most oil based markers have a headache-inducing smell). Not these! The packaging is nice and professional-looking. These are reminiscent of something that would be sold on the shelves in a Michaels store. In my spare time, I paint Christmas ornaments. They work excellent on glass bulbs! I also tried them on wood and canvas! I prefer Artistro to Posca markers (in terms of both quality and price). My only wish is that the “metallics” would come in more colors. I would definitely buy a full spectrum set of metallic colors (if they came in metallic red, orange, green, blue, copper, etc). I also use the Michaels craftsmart brand of paint markers, which are similar in quality (and a bit lower in price than Artistro). However, I prefer Artistro for fine details because they have smaller tips. They also have a nice flow. They occasionally clog, but can easily be cleared by pumping the tip on a scrap piece of paper. They are rich in color/pigment! I only wish there were more metallic colors to try!
Oh my goodness, I just unboxed my Artistro gold and silver oil based paint pens and already love love love them. I tested the pens on a few of my art pieces and that gold is solid and bright and better than I’d hoped for. I’m so happy with the pure gold color these pens lay down with no streaks or weak spots or oil seeping. My photos don’t do justice to the gold shine and lustre Ive never had these kinds of results with the other brands I’ve tried. Artistro really knocked it out of the park with this pen set. Beautiful quality for a very reasonable price.
I tried these out on a new rock and to touch up some existing rock paintings. These are fun to use for a few reasons:-Excellent pigment and coverage. No need to go over several times like some water-based ink colors-Very shiny, convincing metallic finish-Flows easy (sometimes too easy - practice to avoid blow-outs!)The photos don't do it justice. It's really metallic. It almost looks like you applied a foil finish. I kept wanting to find more applications for these markers because the finish and the application is very satisfying.
These are excellent quality oil based extra fine markers. They come packaged very well and would resist drying out before first use because each marker is also shrink wrapped individually inside the box.I am a rock painter so I tried them out on one that was acrylic base coated with black. As the pictures will show the pigment is very dense, yet flows pretty smooth. There was no over flow so fine lines turned out in one try. You may want a second coat if your surface is porous, but honestly I am happy with the one coat. I like these markers better than Posco, and I have tried both. Posco does not last as long, or have as dense a coverage, so it takes more coats. Also the other markers don’t seem to last as long. Artistro markers require a good shaking before each time using, to keep the rich pigment mixed, but that is true of any rich pigment marker. I would recommend these to anyone looking for oil based extra-fine markers!
These markers are great. I have a bit of an issue with our substitute mail carriers not wanting to put on mail in the correct slots. After taking these magical permanent paint pens outside to my mailbox you can see the words and arrows written all over the mailbox from the street. I don't think I'll have to worry about the mail carrier not knowing where to put our magazines and newspapers or our bills and other smaller envelopes anymore. I used the silver metallic color on the black metal mailbox and it looks so clear and beautiful. It was so smooth to draw with even on a bumpy surface. The paint pen didn't run dry or stop writing for me and I was able to easily trace over my previous letters without it smudging since it's also quick drying. Its also stormed a few times since then and the sun hits our porch directly for a few hours in the day but it still has yet to fade or run. These were a smart and crafty investment that I look forward to continuing to use for a long time.
Beautiful colors, so bright and vibrant! I opened up one of each color, gold/silver. For the amount of markers you get in the pack for the price, they beat the big brands like Krylon by miles. I have tried them on paper and wood and no issues. I can't say how they'd act on glass, silicone, rock or anything else that I haven't tried. They are also new to me so I can't say how they hold up long term. As a mixed media artist I'd recommend them!*I've had them for a bit now and like a lot of metallic paint markers, the flow is a bit inconsistent and on the runny side but again, for the price I'm happy with them.I can also say they have great customer service and support if you have any issues!
I have been trying to find a silver that looks as shiny as I can get the gold. This one was great for stones etc, but not exactly foil shiny if that is what your looking for.
I made a sign on canvas and it was very easy to do my swirls. The ink flowed nicely and the silver was opaque enough to cover my dark background. Worth it! Going to try on rocks next.
A definite 5/5. At first the gold came out oily and didnt have any sheen to it other than a few sparkles, but after shaking that one for an extra minute or two, it worked wonderfully. Both the gold and silver come out beautifully shiney, especially in the right light. It feels like it comes out thick, not flat like a marker, so I enjoyed that it had that little bit of lift. It made it easy to move and work with. The fine tips were perfect for small details, so its definitely something I'll be getting again.
I loved the coverage on these pens. They are a true color which means gold looks gold not yellow and the silver is great They work really well on rocks and hold up when sprayed with a sealer would purchase again
I bought the gold and silver paint markers to use for painting rocks. I’m really impressed with how well the paint flows and how evenly. Unlike some other pens that need to be constantly pumped, these continue to write for extended periods. They provide an excellent opaque metallic finish. I’m glad I got the multi-pack because I’ll be using these often.
Bought these for writing on glass. Takes a couple minutes to dry but otherwise they worked great.
Just what I was looking for.
The gold and silver markers are great! The color really pops against a black background! The paint flows easily and smoothly! I will definitely make good use of these new markers!
They work well, very happy with them
