Sara is a young creative artist from Italy who perceives art as part of her soul. There are a lot of animal drawings among her works - this is one of the main sources of her inspiration. You can get acquainted with these and other works in her Instagram accounts @flowerlandsart and @imaginaryllama.art. Despite the young age of 19, the artist already has an impressive experience - she began her creative journey as a child, then she gained invaluable knowledge and practice of her skills, after finishing art school. Her path of self-expression through painting was sometimes interrupted, but after a short time, she again and again managed to find new sources of inspiration and new artists, whose works she admires. This gives her endless inspiration and inner motivation to implement even the most daring ideas.
When we prepared art interview questions, the first thing we wanted to ask was:
What was the strongest influence you had when you were growing up ( artists, movies, cartoons, comics etc.. ) ?
As a child I was mostly influenced by 90's cartoons, especially the Looney Tunes, but I also drew the things around me like my family, my toys ecc. As a teenager I've been strongly influenced by Japanese manga and anime, I learned drawing bodies copying them.
Further, it was impossible not to ask questions about art.
Is there something that you have designed that you are most proud of?
Maybe the first nice watercolor paintings I made because watercolors are quite hard to me!
Continue the phrase: I would never draw…
...Something negative, like horror stuff!
During interviews with artists there certainly comes a time for a little crazy question:)
Can you tell 11 things you could do with a pencil other that write.
Good question! Ahah! You could use a pencil as hair pin, book marker, to take measures, to scratch a mosquito bite, as stick for plants, to cut and make whimsical jewelry, as tool to sculpt clay, to build a sligshot (please don't! Eheh), to build a raft for dolls, as tool to roll up paper for quillling.
Do you have other hobbies besides drawing?
I like reading books, watching films and various kinds of documentaries (natural, history and art). I love food so I enjoy all things related to it, from eating to watch food tours on Youtube to cooking shows. I live in Italy so I feel lucky about this!
What is your craziest idea for your dream work.
I'll tell only one of the dreams/projects I have that is writing and illustrating children tales.
Tell me how many brushers(markers, works) you have in your house?
Maybe 200 total
If you could steal credit for any great piece of art, song, film, book etc which one would you claim?
Totally the Klimt style!
What is your advice for a beginner artist?
I think the basics are important so a beginner should watch tutorials and learn how to build a drawing, how to find a the right proportions etc. Practice and patience are really important...but remember that art is fun so just make what YOU like and don't be too critical with yourself!
What is your favourite Artistro markers or maybe color
My favorite color is the bright pink of the acrylic Artistro Paints 12 set!
Imagine that you need to prepare questions to ask artists, so what questions would you add to our list?
